Follow me to the Secret Garden, a conversation between to crows

I know of a place...

a place where everyone is kind

a place where nourishment is plentiful

a place where there is ease in living.

Follow me to the Secret Garden.

Follow me to the Secret Garden by Jeanne Fry

I know of a place....

a place where rivalry does not exist

a place where everyone is happy

a place where we can manifest our dreams.

Shhhh......

Follow me to the Secret Garden.

Let your Spirit Blossom

As the wind changed direction one day, and the breeze lofted softly, an overwhelming sense came over me...almost in a whisper. I suppose it was a reminder of sorts, an urging, an attempt to lift me up. It was a reassurance, a reassurance to be me. At all costs and in spite of that little self critic that resides deep within, the whisper reminded me to turn my back on the judgements of others and those little fears that live in my gut. "After all this time, isn't it time to live your life for yourself? is what floated in the breeze that day.

Let your Spirit Blossom, a contemporary folk art painting by Jeanne Fry

Some days I need to remind myself over and over, and other days it comes naturally, but either way...the wind nurtured my spirit to blossom that day and comes back on occasion to visit the garden in my spirit.

Where does Strength come from?

Where exactly does that strength come from when you feel as if you are backed up against a wall with no other options? Where does it come from when you feel as if you could not take even one more thing piled onto your plate? When you feel distraught and defeated, what is it that makes you take that one more step?
"Strength" a contemporary folk art painting by Jeanne Fry

Some would say that it was the wisdom gained from life experiences. Others would say it was genetics and how you were raised. I supposed even more would say that their faith lends to their strength. Of course while all of those could be and are valid, I think there is another answer that is truer than true...I believe that our strength lies in a very small place in our hearts and it is called Hope. Even the smallest glimmer of it can fuel a body to get up an try again, to rise another morning, and to forge on through all obstacles.

I believe that this thing called Hope is one of the most important things in our lives, essential to our existence, and often taken for granted. It's something we can all give to someone else, a most cherished gift.

The Personal Story behind "My Spirit Dances"

In my dreams there is a magical land

a land where there are no walls

a land where there are no obstacles to overcome

a land that is only filled with promise.
My Spirit Dances, an original painting by Jeanne Fry

The Saboteur does not live here

Whispers of negativity do not exist

No bystanders are present planting seeds of doubt

Even my shadow twin is oblivious to the location.

In my dreams there is a magical land

where Lupus has no name or credibility

Where prosthetics are a foreign term

for here....

I am Whole

I Breathe Easy

I feel the grass under Both Feet

and I radiate the Light of the Universe.

In my dreams there is a magical land
and here My Spirit Dances.

Manifestation ~ Crow and Flower Symbolism

Manifestation

When studying the living and social skills of the crow, we find how complex of a creature he is. His ability to build, use tools, and his intelligence all lend a hand in the symbolism of manifesting and creating what it is you desire. The highly intelligent crow has always had a mystery about him, as we are still today learning the many layers of skills he possesses.
Manifestation ~ Crow and Flower Painting by Jeanne Fry

Crows are watchmen, keeping a discerning eye on their surroundings. This not only protects them, but alerts them to opportunities. Their voice is masterful at communication, and as a team work together. This reminds us to stay watchful for opportunities (open doors) that are available to us in our own lives, and that as a community we can achieve our dreams. His communication skills also teach us to be sure that we are stating our wants and needs honestly with others, for the speaking of our needs is the first step to attaining them.
Contemporary Folk Art Painting of Crow by Jeanne Fry

This ability to manifest, was the inspiration behind my painting of the crow and the flower, that in the guise of potentially bland surroundings, he has the ability to manifest what it is he wants in his life.

Hummingbird Landing Gourd Sculpture and it's Story

It doesn't seem to matter who you are, how big or small, it's near impossible to not be affected by the arrival of a Hummingbird.  We two-leggeds stop in our tracks, frozen, so as not to disturb his flight of quick little bursts from here to there, almost as if he's teasing us with a game of peak a boo. The pure and happy energy from this delicate little winged one can bring a smile to our  face almost as quickly as his wings flutter.

We await, ever so still, in hopes that the hummingbird will land and greet us, as the Tree Spirit here has done. Quietly, not a flinch, giving stillness for the landing.

For when it lands, pure awe is present, a joy, a trust in one another, a moment of utter magic even though brief.

And that's what Life's moments are....a memory of the magic that the Universe provides, the little things that catch our breath and make us smile.

Hummingbird Landing is a Gourd and Clay Folk Art Sculpture by Jeanne Fry.

Symbolic Meaning of the Pileated Woodpecker

In many cultures around the world, woodpeckers are known for and symbolic of the drumming, and of course within that the heartbeat. They are immediately distinctive when one hears them, and while many may not realize on a conscious level, they can soon help you reconnect with the heartbeat of the Earth...a primal knowing of balance.
Pileated Woodpecker
The Pileated Woodpecker is the largest in the woodpecker family. The symbolism of the colors are important to his meaning. The black and white is representative of how we look at things, our perspectives, and being able to discern between rational and emotional based situations. This is a meaningful totem when one is being overwhelmed by drama and not able to see clearly the basis of what is truly happening. The red crest is symbolic of power, and in this case, powerful mental faculties.

The Pileated Woodpecker is a Master at his craft, nurturing and teaching those around him to find their rhythm in life, and to stay connected, balanced, and level headed in their thinking.
It all leads back to the drumming and the heartbeat.
